Construction of EXPO town in Astana is slated to begin in Apr 2014

ASTANA. October 7. KAZINFORM The construction of the EXPO town in Astana is set to begin in April 2014.

Nurlan Kapparov, the Minister of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan, told a weekly briefing of the Central Communications Service (CCS) Monday.

Minister Kapparov reminded that 49 companies from across the globe, including 20 companies from Kazakhstan, entered a contest for the best design project of the EXPO-2017 town.

"After the results are announced, we will draft the feasibility report. This work is likely to be done by yearend. We hope that the construction works at the EXPO area in Astana will commence in April 2014," he concluded.
